Some nights are hard to explain without photos.

The Malta International Fireworks Festival at Fort St Angelo was one of those nights: the Grand Harbour glowing, families gathering, children looking up at the sky, adults raising their phones to capture the moment… and somewhere in the middle of it all, the Iber&Co team cooking paella after paella until every last portion was gone.

We had the honour of being part of this special evening at Fort St Angelo, serving food for the guests attending the event. And yes — we can confirm it: the paellas disappeared. All of them.

It was busy, beautiful, slightly chaotic in the best possible way, and truly unforgettable.

A Historic Setting for a Magical Night

Fort St Angelo is already one of Malta’s most impressive locations. Add the Grand Harbour, a sky full of fireworks, music, people of all ages and the smell of paella cooking… and you get something very special.

The event brought together families, couples, groups of friends and visitors who came to enjoy one of the most spectacular nights in Malta’s cultural calendar.

From the smallest guests watching the fireworks with wide eyes, to adults enjoying the atmosphere from one of the island’s most iconic historic sites, the evening had that rare feeling of a shared celebration.

Paella, Paella… and More Paella

For the evening, Iber&Co prepared several paellas to serve the guests throughout the event.

And the response? Let’s just say we did not have to take any leftovers home.

Every pan was served, every portion found its table, and by the end of the night, all the paellas were completely finished. For a Spanish taberna, there are few compliments better than that.

Paella is a dish made for gatherings. It belongs to long tables, conversation, sharing and second helpings. Seeing it enjoyed in such a historic Maltese setting made the evening even more meaningful for us.

Feeding the Whole Event

One of the most special parts of the night was that Iber&Co had the opportunity to provide food for everyone attending the event.

We were the only food service on site, which meant every hungry guest eventually found their way to our paella station — and we loved every second of it.

There is something beautiful about seeing people from different ages, backgrounds and countries gather around a plate of food. That is exactly what Iber&Co is about: bringing people together through Spanish flavours, wherever we go.

This time, it happened inside one of Malta’s most historic forts, under a sky full of fireworks.

Not bad for a dinner service.

About the Wine… We Tried

Now, let’s be honest.

The drinks were handled by someone else that evening — so sadly, we couldn’t bring our usual Spanish wines to the party. We know. We missed them too.

Would a glass of Rioja or Albariño have looked perfect next to the paella and fireworks? Absolutely.

But even without our wine list, the night was a success. The atmosphere, the food, the views and the people made it truly special. And don’t worry — if you want the full Iber&Co experience with tapas, paella energy and Spanish wine, you know where to find us.

Fireworks Over the Grand Harbour

As the fireworks began, Fort St Angelo became one of the most privileged places to watch the show.

The lights reflected over the water, the bastions of Valletta framed the sky, and the crowd paused for those few minutes where everyone looks in the same direction.

It was loud. It was colourful. It was emotional.

And for us, it was a reminder of why we love taking Iber&Co beyond the taberna: because food becomes part of people’s memories.
